When my son didn't go to school yet, I bought different letter books and wooden cubes. Then I noticed that there are musical books, the youngest really likes sharks. I chose books here www.top-mom.com/best-books-for-babies/, ordered several at once, the kids love them. The drawings are bright, which I like, children make up their own stories about the characters.
